Selena Gomez draws attention to dog situation in Puerto Rico via YouTube.
Disney’s Selena Gomez discovered the desperate state of animals in Puerto Rico – and put some major celebrity power behind the effort to create awareness and raise money.
She produced a short documentary, distributed via her YouTube channel, that gives a rapid introduction to the issues and introduces the volunteers at Island Dog Inc. who are fighting to make a difference.
As a teen superstar, Selena commands a huge audience. Her YouTube video (to date) has received approximately 850,000 views. Although it does not paint a very nice picture of Puerto Rico with some of the content – it is an accurate depiction. Mentions of dogs being poisoned, killed, or deliberately run over by cars are highlighted.
Be advised Puerto Rico. The world is watching and they know how you are willing to allow man’s best friend to be treated… similar to an Australian jack rabbit. They won’t forget:
