Netflix streaming movies can be watched in Puerto Rico, if a proxy service is used.
Netflix is the company that popularized the “by mail” model of DVD movie rentals. This service is available in Puerto Rico. However, they block their Puerto Rican subscribers from the streaming video part.
If you are in one of the 50 US states, you’re treated to the bonus of unlimited watching of movies via the Netflix website (from a smaller catalog of available titles). Sadly, it blocks this stream from playing if you are connected from Puerto Rico.
There is a technical workaround to get your movies to play. Basically, you have to make Netflix think that you are connecting from somewhere in the US.
Without getting too technical, you need to use a service called a “proxy”. It makes you look like you are connecting from somewhere else. There are many proxies out there. You will probably burn hours trying to figure out how to get one that works reliably (including how to set it up).
However, I have found a service that works great and charges only a small monthly fee. I do not want to list it here publicly in case Netflix discovers it and blocks the service.
How about a trade?
If you share my blog on your Facebook page (using the Facebook share button on the homepage), I will tell you what the name of the service is that works for Netflix streaming in Puerto Rico.
Share “Puerto Rico: A Paradise Lost” blog to your Facebook account using the button on the homepage. Then leave a comment on this article requesting the proxy info and I will email it to you directly.

The proxy service that worked is called GoTrusted:

Note: I have not used this service in quite sometime. It’s possible that Netflix may have blocked them. However, it may be worth a try.
P.S. If you try this service and it *still works* successfully, please post a comment here to let others know.
The GoTrusted site is offering a 7-day trial.
