Well - not quite shark infested, but that got your attention!
However, there are some near shore sharks at the beach. Note: These types of sharks will never bother anyone. I don't think anyone has been killed by a shark in Puerto Rico since the 1920s.
While fishing on August 21, 2008 I landed a small shark (1.5 ft in length) on a 5 inch mullet (live bait fish).
So far the species I've caught at Boqueron Beach, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico include:
- Barracuda
- Mullet Snapper
- Eel
- Shark
- Tarpon (Not yet landed, but hitting the mullet offering)
