The media is still breaking stories about the details in the case of murdered American tourist Sara Kuszak. Now we discover that Ines Navedo, mother of confessed murderer/rapist Eliezer Marquez, went to prison for murdering two brothers age 3 and 4 years old in Puerto Rico in 1992.
News reports state that child victims Reynaldo and Yiraida Saldaña were beheaded in their own homes by Navedo, while their mother (Lissette Pagan) slept nearby.
This early slaughter, for which Ines Navedo was sent to prison, happened on May 3rd, 1992 in the Santiago del Barrio Botijas in Naguabo, Puerto Rico. The boys were neighbors to HIV carrier and admitted prostitute, Navedo.

There has been some speculation that Eliezer Marquez may have been present during the boys murders. He would have been about 20 years old at the time, back in 1992. Since Ines Navedo has claimed she was innocent of the crimes, one might even suggest the possibility that Marquez could have been the killer of the boys back in 1992, acting by himself. We expect more details as the story continues to hit the media, and this should help shed more light on the possibility.
However, at this time, I have yet to see any evidence presented during the case in 1992 to determine the feasibility of such a suggestion. The strange and horrific circumstances surrounding the case suggest that anything is possible.
Ines Navedo was convicted and sent to prison for 2nd degree murder of the boys, but served only 7 years of a 25 year sentence and then was released on probation with an electronic ankle tracking device. Current neighbors have described her positively.
Regarding the murder of Sara Kuszak, consider the words of prosecutor Francisco Sanchez:
Justice is being done for this victim... In this case, there will be no negotiation. He will face the full consequences.
Let us hope this means more than 7 years in prison for Marquez. At least in Old Testament philosophy, just may very well be served as in "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth":
During Eliezer's future time in prison, he will certainly be at risk to himself become a victim of both rape and murder. For most of society's members, prisons and the things that occur inside of them are a big enough deterrent to keep us acting in accordance of the law even when our morality is at times weak.
Mr. Marquez will soon find out why the philosophy of the law abiding is the right path, but it's too late for him.
If we believe reports from Office Arsenio Rodriguez, we know he is starting to realize the trouble he's in, although his tearful words are quite telling about his mixed up sense of reality:
He told me he felt bad because he didn't know (Kuszak) was pregnant... He was crying and telling me he was sorry because he has a daughter and knew he had made a big mistake.
Let us hope his children don't become 3rd generation offenders. They must be counseled now too to break this cycle.
