Let's clear something up right away. I would not vote for John McCain. But John McCain has been bringing up a familiar theme in many of his speeches:

I will make them famous, and you will know their names. You will know their names.

Now he is talking about lawmakers, under the influence of lobbyists, or trying to make a name for themselves in their home states, trying to stick in pork barrel earmarks into Federal Bills.

But I am NOT talking about election promises or lawmaking today. Instead, I think the same mantra John McCain has been repeating everywhere he and sidekick Sarah Palin goe these days.

Puerto Rican bloggers have the power to name names. They have the power to bring attention to the issues and the people involved.

It's about accountability and justice. If they do wrong or are accused of wrong doing, we can document it and make it available in the Citizen's media... the blogosphere. When people search for information about them, they can find out facts that may never be even a blip on the radar of the traditional mainstream media.

If you have read the best Puerto Rican blog out there, Gil the Jenius, you will know that Mr. Schmidt has no problem naming names or making people famous around these parts... with a refreshing, vitally needed, citizen journalistic, take no prisoners approach.

Join me in thanking Gil for his efforts. And, as bloggers for Puerto Rico, join *us* in naming names, and making people famous.
