The Jenius says he's voting for Spongebob Squarepants for Governor of Puerto Rico in November, and he is serious.

Most people who get frustrated or disillusioned with the political process see two options: (a) vote for the lessor of evils, or (b) abstain from voting all together.

The Jenius is considering a 3rd option: Using the ballad to make a statement... in addition to (I'm sure) celebrating a silent internal moral victory... i.e. sticking to one's principles for the sake of integrity and not results. Therefore, if you are not happy with your voting options, why not consider the Jenius method and make a statement?

You might think that a spoiled ballad ends up in the trash, reaching the eyes of only one person (and perhaps a vote auditing team member or two). However, if only one person sees your bold statement, the process is in motion.

If you were counting votes and found one for Spongebob, don't you think it might be a possible conversation piece for you later? Maybe? Well, how about if you found a few hundred or thousand votes for a cartoon character? Now the statement is whole lot stronger. Amplification in action. You can bet that it will become a topic of conversation that will leak out of the vote counting office, into homes, onto the street, and into the offices of the elected.

So - if you really feel like the options in November are not for you, in addition to demonstrating your own integrity and having a small personal moral victory, why not join in making a bold statement with the Jenius?

Puerto Rico Media: You have a story angle right here, right now. Call the Jenius. You can be certain that he is in-person almost identical to his writing style (which is rare). Fast flowing streams of logic with intermittent wise cracks makes for great radio sound bites, and even greater news footage. On top of that you get to bring attention to one of the most prolific political thinkers and writers to be found on the island. Stir the pot a little.

Readers: Help give the Jenius some exposure. This Internet machine is really something. Post links on the local classified sites, Web forums, newsprint classifieds, write emails to journals (television, radio, print), call in to your radio, post info on your blog. Sending a box with stuffed Spongebob and a link directly to the homes of Puerto Rico's journalists will definitely get their attention. Help do some of those things and we might get the Jenius enough exposure to see him live and in living color! And... Spongebob Squarepants might just end up becoming the next Governor of Puerto Rico!
